My 2015 Planner Setup

All my life I’ve loved to plan things. Some of my earliest memories were playing school and developing lesson plans, or creating schedules for my week spent with my grandmother over the summer. In the past few years, I have found that keeping an agenda–not just for school–has given me many benefits, and I finally decided to invest in a Filofax-style planner for my school and personal needs. Though I’m still setting it up, I wanted to share with you how I have organized my planner for this year!

I purchased a planner from Kikki-K, an Australian-based stationary company specializing in Swedish leather and design. I must say that I am very pleased with my purchase/early birthday present (happy 18 to me!). I received the Large Dark Mint Personal Planner which is large enough to fit school and personal schedules with any other needs, as well as, accomodate to my large handwriting. As soon as I received it in the mail, I immediately went to personalizing it which put me into my crafting-zone (AKA three hours of non-stop crafting). Fortunatley, I had everything purchased and ready to go days before I even received my Kikki-K.

I’m diggin’ my dashboard. I have seven tabs labled “Monthly” “Weekly” “School” “Finance” “Writing” “Addresses” and “Lists.” Whereas most of them are self-explanatory, my School, Finance, and Writing tabs are the ones that I am most excited for. I plan to use my Weekly tab in conjuction with my School tab in order to keep up with assignments; however, I found awesome printables meant to help plan and keep up with projects on a weekly basis that I plan to keep in my School tab along with my class schedule and teacher contact info.

My Finance tab is probably my most important. I am awful with money and, since I’m headed off to college next year, I want to learn how to budget better. Here, I’ve added some enevelopes that, with time, I will label for various recreational activities (i.e. “out to eat” or “movies”) where I will put a monthly allotment of money for each activity in order to effectively budget my money. I will also have envelopes set aside for food and hygiene items. For now, since I’m the captain of my Relay for Life team, I have an evelope designated for fundraised money by my team members.

The Writing tab is pretty self-explanatory, but I’m excited for it nonetheless. Here, I have a stable place to plan blogs posts or write down various ideas/plot maps for stories. I’m stoked to finally have easy and 24/7 access to all of my ideas.

Other various accesories that I’m lovin’ include my weekly water tracker that I laminated in order to reuse with dry erase markers each week, my “Today” tab complete with a monthly overview and notepad, my current setup for April plus my color key, and my miniature clipboard on the side of my planner that adds a bit of personality.

So far, I’m obsessed–planner obsessed. If you want any more planner related posts, just let me know and I’d love to do them for ya!

Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Easter!
